Welcome to Fashion Friday! My name is Julianne and I have known Rebekah since we were both students at UCM (except during the time we were spending all of our days in the Grinstead building, it was still called CMSU). I gamely acted as “model” for Rebekah’s photo shoots then and during our time as roommates in Dallas. She has been my photographer for everything from “family photos” with my college roommates to my wedding day.
As Rebekah’s “fashion guru,” I will be bringing you a dose of photo-ready fashion every week. Each Friday will bring a new set of outfit ideas for photo shoots. Whether you are a senior, a family, a couple planning engagement photos, or a mom looking for the perfectly coordinated look for your kids that isn’t (gasp!) matchy-matchy–there will be something for you! Be sure to check back every week for new ideas.
Now, a little bit about me. I love clothes. One of my favorite jobs of all time was working as a visual merchandiser for a little fast-fashion retailer by the name of Forever 21. While I did a lot of drudge work like putting new merch on the floor and folding, I also got to put together outfits for the mannequins inside the store. I used to describe it as getting dressed about 18 times every day. Just in case you were wondering, I LOVED this. I would actually ask to stay longer at the end of the work day.
Along with dressing mannequins, I also love to dress people. My friends and family come to me for outfit advice and I’m always glad to tag along for an impromptu shopping session, even if it’s just to look at what’s already in their closet. It may have something to do with my four years studying Fashion & Apparel Merchandising, but really, I just like clothes.
I hope you will join us for this weekly series of style inspiration! To kick things off, here is little taste of what’s to come. This week, since the post is get-to-know-you style, I’m profiling my personal style in the collage as well. Enjoy!
